Time Passes

The quiet stillness of the night The beauty of the sky The million twinkling stars above The moon so bright and high.
Look quickly e'er it fades away Drink of its beauty deep No human hand can hold it Not one moment can we keep.
Time passes, oh so swiftly The moon and stars will fade As dawn breaks ever gently Time cannot be delayed.
The glory of the rising sun The beauty of the day Is ours to hold but briefly Then, it too, will fade away.
The splendor of the sunset Lasts only for awhile Each day is likened to our life From birth to our last mile.
So treasure each sweet moment Each step along the way Time passes ever swiftly And it cannot be delayed.
