They Cry For Help

Oh, can't you hear their cries for help Those sad and lonely souls? The ones that life has left behind The ones who've lost their goals.
Yes, all men are born equal But there the likeness ends Oh can't you hear the cries for help From those who have no friends?
Perhaps they've suffered heart break And lost their will to live Please listen to their cries for help Give all that you can give.
There goes a man who's beaten down His skin is black, not white But we ignore his cry for help Do you think this is right?
The man who robs and goes to jail For years his debt to pay Did we listen to his cry for help Or did we help make him this way?
The derelicts and prostitutes The bums upon the street Perhaps they also cried for help But fell down in defeat.
So listen to their cries for help And help them if you can How can you ignore their pleas And call yourself a man?
Life has a way of changing Sometimes the tables turn Someday you may cry for help To the people you now spurn.
So listen to their cries for help There's good in every man Help those less fortunate than you Please do it while you can.
