My Prayer

Dear God above, my prayer to you

Is a request to see us through

I have five children, still at home

It's too big a job to face alone.

Please care for us and keep us strong

And guide us, so we won't do wrong

Help me show them the ways of love

Taught by our Father, up above.

Let me by example show ---

That I believe the things I know

Give me strength to face each day

Let me teach them how to pray.

Bless my husband --- though we're apart

Help him make a brand new start

Teach him love for his fellow-man

I couldn't help him, but I know you can.

Please forgive the mistakes I've made

Help me be strong and unafraid

To face the future --- bad or good

And raise my children as I should.

So many things I want to do

But I know I need help from You

Please stand beside me all the way

And bless my children --- this I pray.
