My Lost Love

Gloom all around me, rain pouring down

The one I love, is out of town

No one to talk to --- no one to see

Wonder if anyone thinks of me?

The days drag by, the nights so long

Whatever I do --- turns out wrong

Wonder if life is always this way

Or will happiness come to me someday?

Wish I had someone to love me true

To want me as much as I want you

Wish I was first --- in your life

But you already have a wife.

And places to go --- things to do

Wonder why --- I had to love you?

Wish I didn't love you so

Wish that I could let you go.

To live your life --- alone and free

The way you wanted it to be

But I can't change --- although I try

It's up to you to say "Good-by."
