Memories

My memories I will always hold

They're like a web --- spun of gold

They are always in my mind

My memories are the precious kind.

I never dwell upon the sad

Likewise --- I forget the bad

I like to remember the love I've known

And all the kindness I've been shown.

The good times I have shared with friends

The way a happy story ends

The lasting love of my family

These things mean so much to me.

A love that filled my heart with joy

The birth of a tiny girl or boy

What matters --- if it turned out wrong?

It left within my heart a song.

Another love --- more precious still

With happiness my heart did fill

What matters --- if it didn't last?

I have my memories of the past.

I had my heaven here on earth

I gave my love for what it's worth

What matters --- if I can't have you?

My memories will see me through.
