Man's Best Friend

It's been said that dogs are man's best friend,

And I believe that's true.

They are ever faithful

No matter what you do.

Some are big and menacing

Others, cuddly and small

But they are always there for you

Willing to give their all.

Mine was a small, mixed terrier,

Ferocious sounding, too

We had to keep him in the house

When the mail man was due.

But I loved that dog with all my heart.

Just the way that he loved me

And if there's a doggy heaven,

I'm sure that's where he'll be.
