I'm going to change my life today I'm going to start right now I'm going to listen to everyone That can really tell me how.
I won't try to be perfect For no one is --- you see But I'm going to learn to be someone That I can like --- for me.
And after I've learned to shape my life Like I want it to be Others will see a difference And the rest will come naturally.
Facing the person that I am now Will be the hardest part For I know I'm weak in many ways And have too soft a heart.
Our love, we must give freely But at times we must be strong Sometimes, what seems a loving deed Can really do great wrong.
Then we hurt, instead of help Those closest to our heart We, alone, can't make them happy They have to do their part.
We can't tell others how to live For how are we to know The doubts and fears, the hopes and dreams That shape the way they go?
The only thing that we can do Is try to understand And give freely to them, of ourself If they seek a helping hand.
"Love thy neighbor as thyself" There's lots of meaning there If we don't even like ourself Then what have we to share?
If I'm unhappy with life now It's up to me to change To face my faults and conquer fear To rebuild and rearrange.
I know it won't be easy I may fall along the way But with the help of God and friends I'll find myself someday.
So I'm going to change my life right now I'm going to search my soul To find out what I really need To help me reach my goal.
