An Inspiration For Living

Our lives aren't always happy

Sometimes we get so sad

But we must learn to look ahead

And leave behind the bad.

God put us here upon this earth

He gave us this chance to live

And left it up to each of us

How we would take or give.

He gave us minds, so we can think

And our own decisions make

He gave us hearts so we can love

And sometimes they must ache.

From all our feelings --- bad and good

It's up to us --- you see

To try and shape the life we have

As we want it to be.

We know that some of us are weak

And others are so strong

But none of us are perfect

At times we all do wrong.

We know that God forgives us 

As a loving Father would

For we don't always know the way

To do the things we should.

But people aren't like God above

We love, we laugh. we cry

And sometimes we hurt each other

without even knowing why.

Too many people overlook

The most important thing of all

To look forward to the future 

Hoping this time we won't fall.

No matter what your past has been

You can't change the things you've done 

But the life that lies ahead for you

Can be a happy, better one.

Use your mistakes to profit from

Search for good --- resist the bad

You'll find a strength inside of you

You never knew you had.

Just live each day the best you can

Forget what's been before

Help someone else --- give of yourself

Nothing else can help you more.

You'll find life can be beautiful

If you put your whole self in it

So start right now --- don't hesitate
