A Mother's Frustrating Life

Someday, things may turn out right But I have my doubts about it tonight. The kids are screaming at one another Ignoring the way it affects their mother.
They fight over this And they fight over that "You'd better shut up, You fat little brat!"
"Try and make me, You're not my boss!" And then they wonder Why mother's get cross.
"You're eating my ice cream!" "No sir, this is mine!" "Well, I never got none." "You ate it last time."
And so it goes on --- Will it never cease? How does a mother Ever find any peace?
Yes, someday things may turn out right That is --- if I can survive this night. The books all say there's nothing to it --- But I wonder if they ever struggled through it?
